The 9-11 of Home Buying

For those who were fortunate enough to purchase their homes BEFORE the recession/credit crises/mortgage implosions/lender bankruptcy/wall street drops etc. then yall did good. Cuz right now in September 2008 it is NOT easy to buy a home. Six figures and decent credit ain't cutting it, not today. *chuckle* It sorta feels like it did when you tried to fly right after Sept. 11th. but for home buying.

In other news related to our landlords/development company aka BOLD.K Enterprises, they've still yet to fix anything in here, but that's not surprising. I think I've called just about every organization in St. Louis I could, including the mayor's office and my local alderman. Most folks were very polite and understanding and then said "this is a common problem" but they couldn't help. That's perplexing to me, because if it's so common, WHY is "rehab developer responsiveness STILL an issue in this city?" Sh*t from the 5 months I've been here, my azz is knee deep in poliTRICKS. I see why the dayum city is falling down. Jeez. Altho, once I spoke to the alderman in my district (Academy #51) for some reason he was able to get the owner Paul Wall.ach to respond. And I mean as soon as I hung up the alderman must of have called him because he called my hubby about 20 minutes later apologizing for ALL the issues. But then turned the next day and sent an email stating how he knew NOTHING of any of our issues and was "shocked" to get a call from the alderman *looking into camera.* I'm so thru with this dayum city I don't know what to say. I mean what to when folks don't even respond to the city inspectors? The very folks that have the power to shut you down? I know, scary huh? Kinda makes you wonder who ya really dealing with, don't it?

Other than that, the DOD seem to be doing fine. They don't seem to mind that the ceiling leaks EVERY TIME I take a shower. And don't let us have guests staying in the guest bedroom (which has it's own bath) cuz it gets WORSE. But compared to the new leaks that have sprung on the 3rd floor where the DOD sleep, bathe and play due to excess rain, well I suppose a leaking ceiling ain't too bad. I mean it's not like I HAVE to take a shower everyday *rolling eyes.* I hope that $2,795.00 my hubby is paying each month is being put to really good use. Cuz once this gravy train is gone, it's gone for good.

Of course I've nothing else to talk about cuz this dayum house is wearing on me and making the 5 months we've been here feel like 5 long azz years. I'm telling you, I'm about to run up out of St. Louis yelling and screaming *chuckle.*

I can't understand how it's not possible for you all to legally be able to break your lease after all of this mess. I would seriously look into doing that. I'd have a serious problem giving someone money every month for a place that is falling apart. What a trip. I hope you guys find someplace soon.
